Prospects for joint road infrastructure projects discussed at Belarusian Embassy in Astana

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov met with Chairman of the Board of the national company KazAvtoZhol Darkhan Imanashev on 6 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the development of cooperation to strengthen the transport potential and advance the road infrastructure sectors of both countries. The parties had an exchange of views on potential options for implementing joint projects with Belarusian enterprises possessing relevant expertise.

The directors of the trading houses of Minsk Tractor Plant, Minsk Automobile Plant, and Minsk Motor Plant, who were present at the meeting, gave brief presentations on Belarusian equipment used for the construction, repair, and maintenance of highways.

The Belarusian Ambassador informed the Kazakh partner of the international conference “Evolution of Road Management 2026. Highways and Bridges: Safety and Reliability" which will be held in Brest on 2-3 April, and invited them to attend the event.

The main outcome of the meeting was an agreement to strengthen cooperation between the national company KazAvtoZhol and Belarusian road construction and design organizations and to organize a visit of a Kazakh delegation to Belarus to study Belarusian experience in road construction and maintenance.
