Minister: Belarusian women actively utilize state support to launch businesses

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - Belarusian women are actively taking advantage of state support programs to start their own businesses, Belarusian Labor and Social Security Minister Natalya Pavlyuchenko said during the 2nd national forum of women entrepreneurs “Energy and Creation”, BelTA has learned.

On 29-30 May, women entrepreneurs from across Belarus gathered to discuss pressing issues and exchange experiences. On 30 May, they met with government ministers to address topics such as state support for small businesses, financing opportunities, benefits, and the prospects of women’s entrepreneurship.
"Last year, around 385 women received government support to start their own businesses," Natalya Pavlyuchenko stressed.

This initiative contributes not only to economic development but also serves as a major step toward women's self-fulfillment across all regions of the country. Notably, entrepreneurship is growing not only in major cities but also in smaller towns.
"Women are opening beauty studios, fitness centers, cafés, educational institutions, and launching other projects, creating new jobs and improving the quality of life around them," the minister emphasized.

The Labor and Social Security Ministry noted that subsidies amount to 11 minimum subsistence budgets (over Br5,000) in urban areas and approximately Br7,000 in rural areas. Furthermore, state support is provided at all stages, including free entrepreneurship training, assistance in developing business plans, and consultations at employment centers.
