MAZ showcases electric vehicles at BW Expo in Moscow

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) has presented electric passenger vehicles at the international exhibition of passenger transport BW Expo 2022 that is running in Moscow on 29 November - 1 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.

In particular, MAZ has presented the electric bus MAZ 303E20 of a large class designed for urban transportation. The electric bus is assembled from Belarusian and Russian component parts and is fitted with a traction engine control unit, traction batteries and a multiplex system manufactured by the Russian company Itelma. The driver's cab is equipped with a digital dashboard of the Russian make. The structural frame of the electric bus and the front axle are made by MAZ. Aluminum profiles, plastic used in the sheathing, finishing materials, interior and exterior design elements, seats, tires, electrical equipment components, information boards and other components were made in Belarus. Belarusian companies also developed software products and were responsible for engineering solutions.

The second signature product that Minsk Automobile Plant is showcasing at the Moscow expo is a large-class MAZ-303T20 trolleybus with a passenger capacity of 82 people. Externally, the trolleybus looks like third-generation MAZ buses and electric buses. The model is equipped with an induction motor with the rated capacity of 155 kW, the capacity of hybrid supercapacitors is 36 kWh. The new trolleybus has 30 seats, 14 of which are low-floor seats.

Minsk Automobile Plant is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro-3, 4, 5, and 6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and 3,000 modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
