Inflation in EAEU at 1.6% in January-February 2024

MOSCOW, 22 March (BelTA) - Inflation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to 1.6% in January-February 2024, slowing down to 0.7% in February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

“The consumer price index for goods and services across the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to 100.7% in February 2024 compared to January 2024, 101.6% compared to December 2023, and 107.5% compared to February 2023,” the EEC said.

According to the commission, prices for paid services in the EAEU increased by 8.8% compared to February 2023. Prices for food products went up by 7.5%, for non-food products - by 6.7%.

“Prices for food products higher than in the EAEU were recorded in Russia (up 8.1%). The largest increase in prices for non-food products was observed in Kyrgyzstan (up 10.1%) and Kazakhstan (up 8.5%), for paid services - in Kazakhstan (up 12.8%) and Kyrgyzstan (up 9.6%),” the EEC added.
