Gomel-Bryansk business forum praised as contribution to regional cooperation

GOMEL, 20 May (BelTA) – The business forum Gomel-Bryansk became another step in the development of regional cooperation, Bryansk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz said at the opening of the first regional business forum Gomel-Bryansk in Gomel on 20 May, BelTA has learned.

“Today's business forum is another step in the development of our cooperation,” said Aleksandr Bogomaz. In his words, the trade between Bryansk and Gomel regions is on the rise. “It is important for us to maintain this momentum,” the governor stressed.

“The growing business ties, interaction in education, sports, healthcare, industry, agriculture, and other sectors indicate the expanding integration between our regions,” Aleksandr Bogomaz said.

According to him, much of what the two regions have outlined is already being implemented. In Bryansk, Gomel builders are set to build a residential building. “Work is already underway. I am sure that Belarusian builders will fulfill their obligations on time, their work will be of high quality. In a year and a half, 152 families will get new apartments,” the governor said.

Belarusian specialists are also building a school in Bryansk. Belarusian organizations are concluding a contract for the construction of roads in the Russian region.

“These are really worthy projects of Russian-Belarusian integration,” the head of the region believes. “Amid sanctions, we need to strengthen interregional cooperation. Sanctions, the withdrawal of Western companies are not tests for us, these are new opportunities. We, neighbors and brothers, should unite and strengthen what our ancestors created and what are successfully developed by the leaders of our states. Our peoples have common history, traditions, Victory, and also a common value - love for their Motherland, which is expressed in the fact that year after year our states develop and grow stronger.”

Aleksandr Bogomaz agrees with the Gomel Oblast governor on the importance of developing cooperation ties. “The niche of opportunities is the production of both products and spare parts,” he said.

The first business forum Gomel-Bryansk gathered more than 100 participants. Taking part in an open dialogue on cooperation are representatives of the government, business, chambers of commerce and industry. More than 20 companies from the Russian region showed interest in the forum. About 20 Gomel organizations presented their products at the exhibition.
