MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – In 2023 natural persons in Belarus sold $292.2 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In 2023 individuals bought the equivalent of $9.826 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $10.118 billion worth of foreign currency.
Purchases of foreign currency by Belarusian commercial entities exceeded foreign currency sales in 2023. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $1.209 billion worth of currency more than they sold in 2023. Belarus’ legal entities bought a total of $25.732 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $24.523 billion in 2023.
