
MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) - In May 2025, individuals in Belarus sold $178.5 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In May 2025, individuals purchased the equivalent of $1.026 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.205 billion worth of foreign currency. In January-May 2025, individuals sold $416.2 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased.
Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $15.5 million worth of currency more than they sold. In May legal entities purchased the equivalent $3.023 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $3.008 billion. In January-May 2025, foreign currency purchases by legal entities exceeded sales by $298.6 million.
