MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) - In March 2024 individuals in Belarus sold $109.4 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In March individuals bought the equivalent of $862.1 million in cash and cashless forms and sold $971.5 million worth of foreign currency. In January-March foreign currency sales by individuals exceeded purchases by $263.4 million.
Purchases of foreign currency by Belarusian commercial entities exceeded foreign currency sales in March 2024. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $247.6 million worth of currency more than they sold. In March 2024 Belarus’ legal entities bought a total of $2.422 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $2.174 billion.
In January-March foreign currency purchases by commercial entities exceeded sales by $594.6 million.
