NESVIZH, 4 June (BelTA) – The EAEU needs to take additional steps to improve oversight over the declaration of the customs value of goods, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he spoke at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on 4 June, BelTA has learned.
“An important element of the EAEU is the common customs space. At today's meeting we need to address the problem of ensuring veracity of declared customs value of goods. This matter directly affects economic interests of our countries. The issue is quite sensitive, it is important that we all agree that we need to take additional decisions to come to grips with this issue” said Roman Golovchenko.
Earlier, on 31 May , the prime minister of Belarus commented on this issue as he talked to journalists: “Many import flows are now being redirected. Therefore, we need to keep tabs on this in order to prevent underestimation of customs value of goods and the loss of revenue for our budgets.”
