MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – In 2023, agricultural output in the EAEU in all categories of farms decreased by 1.1% year-on-year. However, the growth was posted by Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, while the decrease was registered in Kazakhstan and Russia. Agricultural output in Armenia remained at the same level, BelTA has learned from the press service of Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
“According to preliminary data, in 2023 the gross harvest of grain (weight after processing) in the EAEU in all categories of farms amounted to 169.4 million tonnes (down by 11.1% from the previous season), that of potatoes - 30 million tonnes (up by 5.4%), vegetables - 22.9 million tonnes (down by 0.4%),” the EEC stated.
“In the EAEU, the output of main types of livestock products increased: that of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) - by 2.2% year-on-year, milk production - by 3%, egg production - by 0.8%. The growth in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) and milk production was observed in all EAEU countries (except for Armenia). Egg production rose in Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and shrank in Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus,” the EEC added.
