MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) - Belarus will design the Novosibirsk metro stations, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich said during a meeting with Governor of Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia Andrei Travnikov, BelTA learned from the government press service.

The Belarusian government delegation started the second day of its working visit to Novosibirsk Oblast. According to Viktor Karankevich, Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast are actively cooperating in machine tool building. "On the first day, we toured a spindle manufacturing plant. This area is in demand in Belarus. We could establish mutual cooperation in supplying components to our machine tool building plants, and then we could deliver finished products to meet the needs of Novosibirsk Oblast," he stated.

Viktor Karankevich expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to design the Novosibirsk metro stations. "We will be happy if our Belarusian specialists can quickly design new metro stations for the Dzerzhinskaya line. Belarusian builders have relevant experience," he emphasized.

He also pointed out that Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast are cooperating to expand the vehicle fleet, particularly by supplying modernized tram cars. "This will benefit the residents of Novosibirsk.  The new vehicles will make the residents happy. It will be more comfortable for them to get around the city," the deputy prime minister concluded.
