Broad money supply in Belarus 1.9% down in April

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – As of 1 May 2021 the broad money supply in Belarus amounted to Br49.939 billion, 1.9% down from 1 April, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and bank accounts of individuals and corporations.

Cash in circulation dropped by 0.5% to Br4.118 billion in April.

Transferable deposits went down by 1.6% to Br5.45 billion. Transferable deposits of individuals went up 4.9% to Br2.806 billion as of 1 May. Deposits of companies went down by 7.7% to Br2.643 billion.

The money supply in national terms amounted to Br18.504 billion, 3% down in April.

The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) increased by 8.3% in April to Br1.562 billion.

The ruble money supply amounted to Br20.066 billion as of 1 May, 2.2% down from 1 April.

The volume of foreign currency deposits rose by 1.7% to Br28.315 billion.
