Borisevich: Pakistan's business interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in woodworking

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) - A Belarusian-Pakistani business forum dedicated to cooperation between the two countries in the field of woodworking was held in Minsk on the sidelines of the Lesdrevtech forestry exhibition on 14 September, BelTA has learned.

During the event, representatives of Bellesbumprom, Bellesexport and companies providing forwarding and logistics services made presentations for the Pakistani audience. The event was also attended by Director of the National Center for Marketing Nikolai Borisevich and Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan.

According to Nikolai Borisevich, the interaction between the National Center for Marketing and the All Pakistan Timber Traders Association Aptta is not a one-off story. "In May 2022, the center together with Aptta organized an online event to discuss the cooperation in the field of woodworking. During the webinar, business representatives had an opportunity to network. After studying the potential of the woodworking industry in Belarus, Pakistani business circles showed interest in developing contacts with our country. As a result, Belarus is hosting a delegation that includes representatives of more than 20 Pakistani companies engaged in the purchase and sale of woodworking products," he said.

After the presentations, the forum participants held a business matchmaking event. In the coming days, businessmen from Pakistan will visit a number of enterprises affiliated with the Forestry Ministry and the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom in Minsk Oblast and Mogilev Oblast. The visit of Pakistani businessmen will last until September 18. The organizer of the business program is the National Center for Marketing.
