Belarusian tractor maker MTZ to open practical studies classroom in BNTU

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor engineering company MTZ will open a classroom of its own in the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk made the statement during a solemn event timed to the 100th anniversary of the BNTU's foundation, BelTA has learned.

According to Vitaly Vovk, the classroom will be fitted with an MTZ 923.6 tractor model. It is a tractor powered by a Perkins engine and was designed for the European market. The university has already received the driver's cab of an MTZ 1523 tractor model as a learning aid. It will be fitted with special devices in order to enable interactive studies.

The practical studies classroom will also be fitted with a disassembled gearbox of the MTZ 3022 tractor model, a booster air cooler for engines compliant with the emissions standard Stage 2 and upwards, a rear axle of the MTZ 3022 model, and a front axle of the 3522 MTZ model. Documents are being drawn now.

The MTZ director general said: “I am convinced that through joint efforts we will be able to accomplish even more to keep the Belarusian mechanical engineering industry in the lead on the home market and abroad.”

The executive added that over 1,000 BNTU students undertook an internship at MTZ in the last five years. Over 200 young professionals were assigned jobs at MTZ as their first mandatory ones. MTZ hired 40 BNTU graduates in 2019 and 39 in 2020.

The BNTU has arranged an exhibition of machines and vehicles ahead of the 100th anniversary. As part of the exhibition MTZ presented four models: an MTZ 3023 tractor with electromechanical transmission, a 450hp MTZ 4522 tractor, an MTZ 2022 tractor with a diesel engine, and an MTZ 742 tractor.

MTZ is one of the world's largest tractor manufacturers. Apart from the main factory the holding company MTZ comprises ten enterprises. As many as 25 assembly enterprises have been established abroad. The manufacturing division employs over 16,000 people. MTZ products are represented in over 60 countries.
