MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) - The position of the parliament is very important for society, and the parliament's opinion on the prospects for cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in the coming years is very valuable, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting with Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova in Minsk on 12 June, BelTA has learned.
According to Roman Golovchenko, the last months can rightly be called months of Belarusian-Azerbaijani cooperation. "A whole series of events followed the official visit of the Belarusian president to Azerbaijan, including my meeting with the prime minister of the country," he said.
The Belarusian head of government stressed that the visit of Sahiba Gafarova is very important because the so-called parliamentary dimension "is gaining momentum."
"Your visit will contribute towards strengthening the Belarusian-Azerbaijani friendship and we warmly welcome you to our country," Roman Golovchenko said. “Your opinion on the prospects of our work for the coming years is very valuable. We must convert our warm and fraternal relations into trade and economic results."
