Belarusian Naftan gets quality oil via Surgut-Polotsk pipeline branch

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – The pumping of quality oil to the Belarusian oil refinery Naftan via the northern branch of the pipeline (Surgut-Polotsk) has begun today, representatives of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim told BelTA.

The source said: “Today they've started pumping oil, which is compliant with technological standards, via the northern branch of the oil pipeline (Surgut-Polotsk). This volume of oil allows the oil refinery to operate with reduced workload.” The oil is meant to be processed by Naftan.

The oil pipeline operating company OAO Polotsktransneft Druzhba has received this oil at its metering stations.

The situation with substandard oil at Mozyr Oil Refinery remains unchanged. “The quality of that oil has not improved,” Belneftekhim representatives said.

BelTA reported earlier that the quality of Russian export oil variety Urals transported in transit via OAO Polotsktransneft Druzhba's main oil pipeline worsened considerably the other day. The poor-quality oil damaged expensive equipment at Mozyr Oil Refinery.
