MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) - Belarusian MPs have studied Algeria’s experience in dairy cattle breeding, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
Upon the invitation of the head of the Belarusian-Algerian parliamentary friendship group Hadjira Abbas the members of the House of Representatives Ruslan Kosygin and Nadezhda Khaltsova and a member of the Council of the Republic Valentina Baiko are staying in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on a return visit on 27-28 January.
The delegation members visited Mostaganem, one of Algeria’s leading provinces with a rapidly developing industry, where they met with its Governor Ahmed Boudouh. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The parliamentarians also visited the agricultural enterprise Mosta Boustane, where they studied Algerian practices in dairy cattle breeding and fruit cultivation. Another site of their visit was the company GISB ENERGY, which specializes in the production of electric lamps, cables, and other products.

The day before, a meeting was held with the director of the SFVUI enterprise, which manufactures utility and industrial vehicles, and also a representative of Algeria’s Ministry of Industry and Mines. The company is implementing a joint project with MAZ for bus production.
The meeting was also attended by the general directors of five leading Algerian enterprises producing machinery and spare parts. The parties discussed the importance for both sides of the visit by the Belarusian head of state to Algeria in December 2025 and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and Mines of Algeria, the implementation of which will promote the development of cooperation in the industrial sector.
According to Ruslan Kosygin, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives and Head of the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus for cooperation with the Parliament of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, establishing and developing cooperation in the industrial sector is a solid foundation for bilateral relations. Belarus is interested in creating assembly plants for MTZ tractors and MAZ automotive equipment in Algeria. The parliamentarian is confident that it is necessary to utilize all potential for the successful implementation of all tasks set by the leadership of the two countries.
