Belarusian Bellesbumprom output 12.4% up in January-February

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) – In January-February 2020 the output of enterprises run by the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom increased by 12.4% year-on-year, the concern's press service told BelTA.

The companies demonstrating the highest output growth were those belonging to the pulp and paper industry and the forest chemistry industry, namely OAO Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill, OAO Lesohimik, OAO Superpack Company, OOO Interpaper, OAO Belkarton, OAO Paper Mill Spartak. Manufacturers of wood-based panels, plywood, and a number of furniture manufacturers also demonstrated good growth figures.

Export is on the rise. According to statistics, in January 2020 Bellesbumprom export grew by 10.1% from January 2019. Bellesbumprom shipped $46.98 million worth of exports. Export to non-CIS states rose by 13.3%, with export to CIS states up by 7.2%. The top target markets were Russia, Poland, Ukraine, China, and Lithuania.
