MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Belarus and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed on veterinary certificates for milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, as well as honey and a broad assortment of ready-made food products, Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, told BelTA.
"During yesterday's meeting with a representative of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the parties agreed upon veterinary certificates for milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, as well as honey and a broad assortment of ready-made food products. This will allow unobstructed supply of Belarusian food products to the UAE market. The coordination of the form and essence of the veterinary certificates implies deliveries and mutual trust of veterinary services. This is a big achievement in trade relations,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.
The parties agreed to arrange in the near future a visit of representatives of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology to Belarus to certify five poultry farms and three meat processing factories in line with the Halal standard. “Apart from that, we have agreed with the UAE's state company Emirates Future to step up cooperation in trade and investments after the Belarusian companies receive the Halal certificate,” Aleksei Bogdanov added.
