MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Head of the Administration of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Minsk Anatoly Kalinin and Deputy Director General of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Development Corporation (Russia) Anton Garanin signed a cooperation agreement during the 3rd International Forum of Special Economic Zones in Nizhny Novgorod, BelTA learned from the FEZ Minsk.

According to the agreement, the parties committed to supporting enterprises that are planning or implementing investment projects in Minsk Oblast and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. “I am convinced that the signing of this agreement between the FEZ Minsk and the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Development Corporation is an important step toward strengthening bilateral regional cooperation. It will foster industrial partnerships between enterprises, support joint initiatives, and ultimately contribute to the economic growth of our countries,” Anatoly Kalinin emphasized.

The Development Corporation and the FEZ Minsk also plan to organize joint events to introduce potential investors to business opportunities in both countries. “The Development Corporation is actively building partnerships with international colleagues. We previously signed a cooperation agreement with the FEZ Vitebsk. I believe that our joint efforts will enhance the investment appeal of our regions and open new opportunities for entrepreneurs in Nizhny Novgorod and Belarus, promoting cross-border industrial cooperation,” Anton Garanin added.

The 3rd International Forum of Special Economic Zones brought together representatives of SEZs and FEZs, legislative and executive authorities, and industry experts. Participants discussed the future of special and free economic zones, scaling best management practices, the cluster approach, and new legislative initiatives. The forum also featured exhibitions from Russian SEZs and panel sessions on legal regulation, governance, sustainable development, and the role of SEZs in shaping industrial corridors.
