MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarus raised minimum subsistence budget on 1 February 2025, BelTA learned from the press service of the Labor and Social Security Ministry of Belarus.
The new minimum subsistence budget on average per capita is set at Br447.64., which is 2.2% higher than the minimum subsistence budget which was in effect from 1 November 2024. The new minimum subsistence budget will be valid until 30 April 2025.
Various allowances and increases that make part of the social security system and also certain social payments tied to the minimum subsistence rate have been also revised upwards.
These are the amounts of state benefits to families raising children, additional payments to pensions, allowances to care for a disabled person of group I or a person who has reached the age of 80, and social pensions.
According to the ministry, almost 540,000 people aged 75 and older receive age-related bonuses to pensions. The size of these payments will increase by 2.2%. Thus, for people aged 75-79 years old, the additional payment will amount to Br83.93, and Br195.84 for Group I disability. For people aged 80 and older (including the care allowance) the additional payment will make up Br167.87, and Br223.82 for Group I disability.
