Belarus’ PM outlines prospects for industrial cooperation with Vietnam

MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - A Vietnamese delegation led by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin visited the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) to study a wide range of tractor models and other machinery, BelTA has learned.

The guests toured an exhibition featuring Belarusian equipment, including BELARUS tractors, and machinery by Minsk Automobile Plant, MotoVeloZavod, Bobruiskagromash and Lidaagroprommash.

The prime minister drew attention to the BELARUS 1222.3 tractor, which has been awarded the State Quality Mark. He highlighted that assembling such a model could become a landmark project for both countries.

To Lam emphasized that this could indeed be a promising area of bilateral cooperation. "Our state-owned and private enterprises can utilize your tractors for their needs. The machinery can be also exported," the general secretary stated.

Aleksandr Turchin noted that another sector for cooperation development with Vietnam could be fire trucks supplies. He offered the Vietnamese delegation to explore one of Belarus’ production facilities in this sector. To Lam accepted the proposal, acknowledging Belarus’ highly developed engineering sector and the impressive load capacity of its vehicles.

To Lam also pointed out Vietnam’s interest in manufacturing school buses, which could represent yet another area of cooperation between the two countries. "We have a strong desire to purchase buses. These buses must be of higher quality and durability," he stated.
