MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun held a working meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Altai Krai Mikhail Chmyrev, during which the Belarusian representative expressed interest in expanding supplies of high-quality farming machinery and products of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC) to the Russian region, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
The parties confirmed their interest in the development of bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial complex.
In 2024, the trade in food products and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Altai Krai increased by 21%. In Q1 2025 the mutual trade tripled compared to the same period last year. Belarus supplies the Russian region with spare parts for milking equipment. The parties are actively developing cooperation in the scientific and educational sectors in pursuance of the existing agreements with universities and research organizations.
It was emphasized during the meeting that Belarus is interested in expanding supplies of high-quality farming machinery, BNBC products (amino acids, premixes, mixed fodder) and food products and raw materials for the needs of Altai Krai's growing livestock farming.
Development of beekeeping and measures of state support for private and subsidiary farms were also discussed with partners from Altai Krai. The parties exchanged experience in animal husbandry. According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, agreements on joint work were reached in all areas.
