MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan signed documents on cooperation during the visit of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov of Kazakhstan to Minsk on 14 November, BelTA has learned.
The governments of Belarus and Kazakhstan signed a roadmap on trade and economic cooperation for 2025-2029.
According to Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, earlier the roadmap was signed for two years, this time - for five years. He noted that the roadmap features a number of measures to intensify trade and cooperation in manufacturing industry, agriculture, transport and communications. "It also includes a whole range of humanitarian matters: education, science, sports, tourism, healthcare and, what is very important, interregional interaction. We hope that we will be able to hold the first Kazakhstan-Belarus forum of regions. We believe that this is a very effective format that helps advance interaction in various areas," he said.
In turn, Olzhas Bektenov expressed confidence that the roadmap for 2025-2029 will help expand the pool of joint projects and establish even closer ties between the business communities of the two countries.
Moreover, Belarus’ National Tourism Agency and Kazakh Tourism signed a cooperation agreement.
"Kazakhstan is a wonderful country for mountain tourism and for those who are fond of mountain hiking and skiing, and are interested in the culture of nomadic peoples. The ethnic and cultural heritage of this country, which differs so much from the Belarusian one, amazing Asian cuisine are certainly attractive for Belarusian tourists. Visitors from Kazakhstan love to holiday at Belarusian health resorts and are also interested in Belarusian rural tourism. Belarusian unique historical and cultural heritage, factory tourism also arouses interest. So there is a lot we can work on. We are looking forward to further development of air service between our countries and different cities," Director of the Belarusian National Tourism Agency Dmitry Morozov stressed.
The parties also signed an action plan on cultural and humanitarian cooperation for 2025-2026.
