MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – The export of Belarusian food and
agricultural products to Egypt totaled $770,000 in January-June 2021, up
2.4 times compared with the same stretch a year ago. The matter was
discussed by Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko and
Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali El-Sayed Ali
El-Moselhi on 17 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the
Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
The parties discussed promising areas for trade and economic cooperation and outlined steps to intensify it. “Egypt is one of the strategic partners for Belarus on the African continent. Cooperation between our countries in agriculture has been steadily developing,” the press service said.
Belarus is interested in increasing the supply of food products, primarily dairy products: butter, cheese, milk powder, and, as future plans, meat products (beef and poultry), produced in accordance with Halal requirements.
