MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Belarus is diversifying its food export markets, Head of the Main Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry Kseniya Meleshko said during a press conference dedicated to the 31st international wholesale exhibition Prodexpo 2025, which will be held in Minsk on 11-14 November, BelTA has learned.
Kseniya Meleshko noted that this year has seen positive dynamics in food exports. For certain goods, there is growth in both volume and value. Traditionally, there is consistent demand for beef, canned meat, sausage products, cheese, cottage cheese, and vegetable oil.
“We are focusing particularly on diversifying our export shipments. Supplies to African countries have already increased more than 3.3 times over five years. Exports to the Asian region are also growing. The trend is positive,” Kseniya Meleshko said, adding that the Prodexpo exhibition is an opportunity to find new partners.
The exposition is expected to be attended by representatives from 27 foreign states. Negotiations with retail chains of Belarus and Russia on the promotion of Belarusian food products are also scheduled. “Negotiation sessions have been arranged with the agriculture and food ministry. We remain open for partnership. The established systematic work has allowed us to supply products to 115 countries worldwide,” Kseniya Meleshko emphasized.
She highlighted that enterprises will continue to explore the African region, find their niche and strengthen their positions. Another priority direction is China.
“The work that has been carried out since 2016 is yielding results. More than 200 enterprises already have registration numbers, which allows them to ship products. If we started with meat and dairy product groups (dry dairy products, beef), now the product range is expanding,” Kseniya Meleshko noted. “This includes vegetable oil, confectionery, chocolate, and various types of beverages. We see this market as promising both for consolidating positions in product categories we have long worked with and for expanding the product range.”
Prodexpo is the leading specialized food exhibition in Belarus. It is organized by the National Exhibition Center of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate and the Belaursian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, with the support of the Belarusian food industry concern Belgospishcheprom.
