Automated tracking system deployed at six Belarusian border checkpoints

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – An automated system to track border-crossing individuals, vehicles, and commodities was deployed in test mode at the Belarusian border checkpoints Privalka, Grigorovshchina, Benyakoni, Peschatka, Domachevo, and Kozlovichi as of June 2016, the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

Paper vouchers are no longer used at these border checkpoints.

The automated tracking system has been created on the basis of the automated Customs Union Transit system, which is already used by the Belarusian customs service. The new tracking system has been hooked up to the Belarusian border service computer system and other automated systems in use at the border checkpoints.

The new technology is designed to improve border crossing experience, making it more modern and convenient, said the source.

The system will be introduced at the Varshavsky Most border checkpoint by the end of the year.
