MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Kenya Pavel Vzyatkin presented Belarus’ best practices in farm machinery building, food production and processing, scientific and personnel support of the agricultural sector as he met with a delegation of the Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture led by Minister Andrew Karanja on 8 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Agriculture in Kenya is one of the priority sectors of economy, which ensures more than 30% contribution to the country's GDP and creates jobs for a significant part of Kenyan population, the ministry of foreign affairs said.
“The Belarusian diplomat and the Kenyan minister discussed promising areas for joint work, taking into account the industrial potential and competencies of Belarus and the challenges the Kenyan ministry of agriculture faces,” the ministry said.
