Visa-free travel program

Foreign citizens are allowed to stay in Belarus for up to 30 days without visas, provided they cross the border at the Minsk National Airport. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 24 July 2018. The first presidential decree to enable visa-free travel to Belarus came into effect on 12 February 2017. The document allowed foreign tourists to enter Belarus for up to 120 hours without visas, provided they crossed the border at the Minsk National Airport.

A one-way ticket costs €10 plus taxes and charges. A return ticket costs €20 plus taxes and charges. The tickets can be used for flights from 15 March to 14 April (the return flight).

Over 100,000 foreigners availed themselves of the opportunity to visit Belarus without visas in 2018. This year's number is expected to grow larger since Minsk will host the 2nd European Games in June and a Europe vs United States athletics match in September.

Foreigners will not be charged a commission for claiming the cash refund at the Belarusbank offices located at these checkpoints. The refund makes up 15% of a purchase amount (VAT not included).

Belavia to launch regular flights to Tallinn

A one-way ticket will cost from €93, including taxes and charges; a return ticket will cost from €178. These flights will be operated four times a week. The flight time is 1 hour 15 minutes.

The mayor said: “Thanks to the visa-free travel program more and more people come to Brest and explore it anew. The fact that we saw 18,500 visa-free tourists in 2018 confirms it. Grodno is a good reference point we should strive to match."

In January-November 2018 Minsk exported over $112 million worth of tourism services, 13.4% up from the same period of 2017. According to provisional statistics, last year's export will reach $121.9 million.
