Visa-free travel program

Foreign citizens are allowed to stay in Belarus for up to 30 days without visas, provided they cross the border at the Minsk National Airport. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on 24 July 2018. The first presidential decree to enable visa-free travel to Belarus came into effect on 12 February 2017. The document allowed foreign tourists to enter Belarus for up to 120 hours without visas, provided they crossed the border at the Minsk National Airport.

The Schengen visa fee for Belarusians will drop to €35 while the decision to issue a visa will be made within ten days. Many groups of citizens will be able to apply for visas without paying the fee.

The decree allows participants, organizers of the competitions, and foreign tourists to enter Belarus without visas. Accredited personnel will be able to use the mass transit system for free. Zero road toll is part of the package.

The source said: “The Belarusian parliament will also have to ratify the agreements. The agreements may come into force in June 2020 (on the first day of the second month after signing). The agreements will come into force on the same day.”

The agreements were signed by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, and Croatian Internal Affairs Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Davor Bozinovic.

Belarus, EU sign visa facilitation agreement, readmission agreement

The agreement provides for mutual facilitation of visa procedures for a broad spectrum of citizens and for reducing visa fees. Citizens will be able to apply for visas to embassies of European nations and to visa centers.
Number of visa-free tourists to Brest Oblast almost doubles in 2019

More than 32,000 foreigners visited the oblast under Belarus' visa-free program (18,500 in 2018). These were nationals of 71 countries. The majority of them came from Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Latvia and the Czech Republic.

Belarus, Albania sign visa-free travel agreement

Once it comes into force, the agreement will allow citizens of Belarus and Albania to enter each other's country, stay, and travel in transit for a period of up to 30 days.
