Gold for Belarus at European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships 2016

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team claimed the Team Gold at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Holon, Israel, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian team of Ksenia Cheldyshkina, Anna Dudenkova, Maria Kadobina, Maria Kotyak, Valeria Pishchelina and Arina Tsitsilina clinched the Five Ribbons Gold. The Belarusians earned a total of 18,516 points. Second was Israel with 18,400 points. Bronze went to Spain (18,133 points). Belarus finished fourth in Two Hoops and Three Pairs of Clubs with the total of 17,666 points.

Belarusians graced the podium of the junior tournament three times. Silver medals were awarded to Yulia Yevchik (Rope) and Alina Gornosko (Hoop). Yulia Isachenko claimed bronze with the Clubs.

Belarus won six medals at the 2016 European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, including the Senior Team All-Around Silver and the second place in the Junior Team Standings.

Leader of the Belarusian team Melitina Staniouta finished 4th in the Individual All-Around event.
