Dinamo Stadium to reopen soon

MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – Dinamo Stadium reconstruction is nearing completion. The stadium is in a high degree of readiness and will open on 21 June, Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets told the journalists during the National Clean-up Day on 21 April, BelTA had learned.

“The work is organized in three shifts. Up to 1500 people work here depending on the time of day. We have gathered here all the city's building resources, part of which got free after the project to build the Palace of Gymnastics was over. Some facilities have already been finished. The main focus today is on the stadium's pitch. I think we will start laying the grass down soon,” said Andrei Shorets.

The representatives of Belarus President's Administration and of Minsk City Executive Committee (all in all about 70 people) worked on the stadium together with the professional builders on 21 April. They worked on the pitch drainage system, and helped landscape the territory and paint the fence on Ulyanovskaya street.

The stadium reconstruction is to be finished by 31 May. The Stroitrest No.1 construction company said that almost all the stalls have been finished. The interior finishing is being completed; front stained glass windows are being mounted. The specialists started painting the front side of the stadium which, like the Central Arcade in Kirova Street, is considered a historical value. Four powerful light towers have been installed on the stadium. The work is in progress on the irrigation and heating systems. The green lawn is to be rolled down in May.
