Morinari Watanabe remarked that he had already been to Belarus, and every time he was impressed by Belarusian people and wonderful nature. “I feel as if Belarus is my second homeland,” Morinari Watanabe said.
Belarus picked up two medals at the previous world championships in Beijing two years ago, both in women's running events. Marina Arzamasova claimed gold in 800m, Alina Talay won bronze in 100m hurdles.
The festival, which will be held in Belarus for the first time, will unite two races: the Russian Drag Racing stage SMP RDRC and the Festival Unlim 500+ Belarus. The races will be held on the take-off runway.
Following her sensational victory 7-5, 6-3 over world number 34 Lauren Davis of the United States, the Belarusian world number 121 lost to Sabine Lisicki of Germany (World No.190) 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 in the round of last 16.
