Vietnam's tourism industry presented in Minsk

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) - Vietnam's tourism industry has been presented in Minsk as part of the Vietnamese Cultural Days, BelTA has learned.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Le Anh noted that there is a huge potential for strengthening Belarusian-Vietnamese tourist ties. He drew attention to the fact that the number of Belarusian tourists in Vietnam has significantly increased in recent years, and especially in the past year. The diplomat attributed this increase to the measures adopted at the governmental level. For example, Vietnam waived visas for Belarusian visitors who come for a period of up to 15 days.

“Tourists from Belarus are welcome in Vietnam,” he said and emphasized that trips to Belarus are growing more attractive with Vietnamese travelers.

The head of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Nguyen Cheung Khang also highlighted a keen interest in developing tourism. He noted that Vietnam welcomed almost 30% more foreign tourists last year.

The presentation showcased the most attractive areas of Vietnam, including Halong Bay, the historical, cultural and natural monuments of the country. The event was attended by representatives of the ministries and departments of the two countries, and travel companies.
