MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Several Russian Su-34 and Su-30SM aircraft will take part in the aerial part of the army parade during Belarus' Independence Day on 3 July, BelTA learned from Vladimir Makarov, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Central Office for Ideology of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, on 26 June.
The official said that the Russian Aerospace Forces will send a number of aircraft and helicopters to participate in the parade of the Minsk garrison troops. Reconnaissance and attack helicopters Ka-52, multipurpose fighter-bombers Su-34, and multipurpose fighters Su-30SM will fly over the Belarusian capital city.
The aerial units will cross the skies above Minsk after the ground troops have passed. Minsk residents and guests will be able to see the main types of the aircraft, helicopters, and air defense systems used by the Belarusian army. The Belarusian aerial units will include combat helicopters Mi-8MTV-5 and Mi-24, fighter jets MiG-29, attack aircraft Su-25, military transport aircraft IL-76, An-26 aircraft, combat and training aircraft Yak-130, and training aircraft L-39. The aircraft will be flown by the best Air Force pilots. The aircraft will travel as fast as 350-500kmph while the helicopters will fly at speeds of 60-200kmph.
