MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – The Russian-Belarusian youth business incubator will open in Moscow in November, Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Aleksandra Goncharova told BelTA.
The agreement was reached during a meeting of representatives of the BRSM Youth Union and Deputy Chairwoman of the Russian Youth Union Tatiana Seliverstova. “We have examined the provision on joint business incubators and decided to finalize it for signing on the sidelines of the 13th festival Youth for the Union State in Rostov-on-Don in September. According to the agreement, in November the first residents from Belarus will be trained at the Russian-Belarusian youth business incubator in Moscow. We plan that next year trainings for Russian innovators will be organized at the Belarusian-Russian youth business incubator in Minsk,” she said.
According to Second Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee Oleg Dikun, the Russian-Belarusian youth incubator will be opened at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The project will unite 20 young entrepreneurs from the two countries and will be organized in three sections: IT, industry, and agriculture. “For eight days, young innovators will communicate with mentors, attend high-tech manufacturing facilities, work on business cases and may get financial support. This project is developed by analogy with the Russian-Chinese youth business incubator, which has been functioning successfully for three years. We hope that the center will also become a breakthrough point for us in cooperation and the setting up of joint ventures. The real economic effect from the Russian-Chinese youth business incubator amounted to $230 million over the past year,” he stressed.
Belarus is considering candidates who will be the first to attend business trainings in Moscow. “The selection will be held under the auspices of the Council of Young Entrepreneurs, which has been set up under the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union. It includes young businessmen and representatives of companies that help young people to protect interests and brand their products. We also have plans to talk with representatives of business communities in order to hear their opinion on the issue. The first meeting will take place today. When selecting candidates, we will give priority to the participants of the national contest 100 Ideas for Belarus who have a really working business model and who need training and financial support,” Oleg Dikun said.
