MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) - Polina Borodacheva of Minsk has won the Miss Belarus 2016 title, BelTA has learned.
The crown presented to the new Miss Belarus was created in 2004. The crown made of white gold features half a thousand of cubic zirconia and topazes and weighs 120grams. Polina Borodacheva will represent Belarus at the Miss World 2016 beauty pageant and will also take part in various cultural and charity events in Belarus and abroad. The new beauty queen received special prizes, including a BelGee offroader.
Polina Borodacheva is 22 years old. She is a student of the Minsk State Linguistic University.
Yekaterina Savchuk of Minsk was named first runner-up, Anastasia Soroko of Molodechno – second runner-up. The Miss People's Choice title went to Veronika Kot of Lida. Anastasia Isakova of Polotsk was named Miss Friendship, Polina Pimakhina of Minsk – Miss Top Model, Maria Lobanova of Gomel – Miss Photogenic, Kristina Matesha of Belynichi – Miss Oriflame.
The national beauty pageant Miss Belarus is held once in two years. The contest is organized by the ONT TV channel. In 2014 the title of the country's most beautiful girl went to Viktoriya Miganovich of Smorgon.
