MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) – There are no Belarusian nationals among the victims of the explosions in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told BelTA.
“According to the Embassy in Indonesia, there are no Belarusian nationals among the victims of the blasts in Jakarta,” he said. The embassy has been monitoring the situation closely.
According to media reports, a series of bomb blasts have rocked the Indonesian capital. Several people have been killed and gunfire continues in the area.
At least five people, including a police officer, have been killed in reportedly six blasts.
The Indonesian police informed on Twitter that one of the blasts took place opposite the trading center Sarinah and the Starbucks cafe. The local television reported blasts near the embassies of Turkey and Pakistan.
