Director of Belarus' Hi-Tech Park meets with Chinese IT billionaire

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – Director of the Hi-Tech Park Vsevolod Yanchevsky met with shareholders and owners of major IT companies from the Asian-Pacific region on 22 November, BelTA has learned. Shi Yuzhu (Giant Interactive) and Nurali Aliyev (the investment fund Zhanartu) were present during the negotiations in the Hi-Tech Park.

Shi Yuzhu is one of the top Asian IT businessmen. His personal wealth exceeds $4 billion. The Giant Interactive company he has founded is one of the world's largest videogame developers and publishers. The investment fund Zhanartu was established by Nurali Aliyev in 2016. It invests heavily in digital business and in training IT specialists in compliance with international standards. Top executives of Giant Interactive Company and the Zhanartu fund are in Minsk on a visit. They were invited by Synesis Company, which resides in the Hi-Tech Park in Minsk.

The foreign guests noted Belarus' desire to develop digital economy and the attention Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko pays to the domestic IT industry. The Asian investors also expressed readiness to finance promising Belarusian projects in the sphere of artificial intelligence, Big Data, and machine vision.

As a result of the meeting Vsevolod Yanchevsky and Shi Yuzhu signed a memorandum of cooperation. The sides agreed to open development centers of international companies in the Hi-Tech Park. The companies specialize in artificial intelligence technologies and gaming industry. An agreement was reached on promoting Belarusian technology startups on rapidly growing Asian markets.
