MOSCOW, 15 March (BelTA) – The CSTO Permanent Council highlighted the need to consolidate efforts of its member states in preserving the memory of the fallen during the Great Patriotic War at a meeting in Moscow on 15 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.
“In view of the approaching 75th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy, the CSTO Permanent Council took note of the need to further consolidate the efforts of the CSTO member states in preserving the memory of the fallen during the Great Patriotic War and to prevent the destructive revision of its historical lessons,” the press service noted.
The participants also reviewed the draft agendas of the meetings of the CSTO statutory bodies to be held this year, the legal regulation of the fight against illegal migration and illicit drug trafficking, the joint exercises of the government bodies and forces of the collective security system of the CSTO member states and other issues.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to Russia, Plenipotentiary Representative of Belarus to the CSTO Igor Petrishenko.
