Children of Belarusian scientists take part in international art project

MOSCOW, 21 August (BelTA) - Children of Belarusian scientists have become participants of the international musical “Just Summer Rain” which brought together talented students from 13 countries. The Moscow premiere of the show took place in the Helikon Theater at the end of last week, BelTA has learned.

Nuclear Kids is the children's art project by Rosatom State Corporation. The project annually brings together talented children of employees of the nuclear power industry from Russia and foreign partner-countries of Rosatom. According to the organizers, the main objectives of the project is to strengthen the ties of friendship between the children whose parents work in the nuclear industry in different countries, to create the conditions for the realization of art potential of talented children, develop new traditions of cultural interaction.

This year the project has brought together children from Russia, Turkey, China, India, Hungary, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, the United States, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Belarus. Belarus is represented by Alexandra Kazeika and Darya Kosenkova from Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast, whose parents work at the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

To participate in the musical, both Belarusian girls had many auditions. It was the second time Dasha Kosenkova participated in the project. “I applied on the advice of friends,” she told BelTA. “At first I had a local casting in the city, then I sent the video to the project. In the end I was chosen to represent Belarus. I made many friends thanks to the project last year. I wanted to see them again. Emotions from the project are over the top. This year, the musical is large-scale and very interesting again,” the girl noted.

Sasha Kazeika decided to take on the creative endeavor on the advice of her parents. “I have very good impressions from the project ," she said. “Thanks to the project I have grown more confident, feel more comfortable on stage. Various trainings, vocal and choreography classes really helped,” Sasha noted.

Daria and Alexandra said they will apply for the Nuclear Kids project next year. However, they see singing and dancing only as as a hobby in the future: Dasha eyes international relations as her future profession and Alexandra wants to become a physicist or a mathematician. But as the girls assured they will forever remember this project.

A two-hour musical “Just Summer Rain” is a story of a provincial school student who one day finds himself in a big city where he has unexpected encounters and adventures. The team working on the show involves famous professionals: script writer, director, songwriter Vladimir Karabanov, choreographer Maksim Nedolechko, composer Ilya Efimov, lighting designer Andrei Buravchikov and others.

Moscow became the final point on the tour of the project. Before the Russian capital the musical was shown in St. Petersburg, Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod, and in Hungary's Kalocsa and Paks.
