MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – The cello schools of Belarus and France celebrated the 20th anniversary of cooperation with a joint concert in Minsk on 2 April, BelTA informs.
The orchestra of the national gymnasium-college of the Belarusian State Academy of Music under the baton of Vladimir Perlin played to a full house at the Belarusian State Philharmonic. Among the soloists were Ivan Karizna, Georgy Anishchenko, Mikhail Radunsky (cello), Jerome Pernoo (cello), and Jerome Ducros (piano).
The French embassy, the organizer of the concert, hosted a meeting of the French and Belarusian musicians with the media prior to the concert. The musicians told the journalists how their friendship started and developed. It started with Jerome Pernoo's visit to Minsk 20 years ago, which followed with an exchange of talented French and Belarusian young musicians.
French cellist and teacher Jerome Pernoo and French pianist and composer Jerome Ducros have become true friends for their Belarusian counterparts.
Despite the fact that the French cello school is well-known worldwide, cooperation with Belarusian specialists is very useful, Jerome Pernoo said.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus Didier Canesse views the cooperation between the musicians of the two countries as unique.
Jerome Pernoo cooperates with many famous French symphony orchestras, performs jointly with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Vienna Symphony, the Munich Orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera, the orchestra of the Zurich Opera House, the Spanish National Orchestra and the Stockholm Radio Orchestra.
