BREST, 24 April (BelTA) – A delegation of Brest will take part in the 8th Forum of Kaliningrad Partner Regions on 22-23 May, BelTA learned from Brest First Deputy Mayor Vadim Kravchuk.
“A business mission is currently formed. It will comprise representatives of small business and big industrial companies of the city. This is likely to be Brestzhilstroy that implements a lot of construction projects in Kaliningrad Oblast and Savushkin Product. The delegation will be led by Brest Mayor Alexander Rogachuk,” the vice mayor said.
The 8th Forum of Kaliningrad Partner Regions, organized by the government of Kaliningrad Oblast, will be held in the cultural center of Svetlogorsk. The forum was first held in 2008 and annually gathers about 300 participants from Russia, Belarus, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Apart from practical aspects of interregional cooperation, this year's program will include issues of cooperation in culture, new approaches in urban planning. Roundtables will feature an exchange of experience in the use of cultural heritage in the economic growth of regions, discussions over the development of pedestrian areas and the need of historical reconstruction.
Brest Oblast and Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast have an agreement for 2016-2018 to develop cooperation in trade, economic, social and cultural sectors.
