Belarusian startup MeetnGreetMe wins UN award

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Belarusian startup MeetnGreetMe, a resident company of the Hi-Tech Park of Belarus, won UN World Summit Award Mobile, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park.

MeetnGreetMe was named one of the winners in the category Culture & Tourism in 2016.

MeetnGreetMe is an online platform connecting international travelers and local people for getting personal concierge services and lifestyle management. According to the MeetnGreetMe Founder and CEO Elena Shkarubo, today local MeetnGreeters are ready to provide their services in 160 cities around the world, including Rome, Barcelona, Minsk, Seoul and others.

The winners of World Summit Award Mobile are selected by a panel of judges which comprises IT experts from 178 UN member states. The judges take into account five technical evaluation criteria: quality of the content, functionality, design, technology and innovation. There also are two strategic evaluation criteria: local and global social impact.
