Belarusian nuclear industry specialists visit Novovoronezh nuclear power plant in Russia

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Belarusian nuclear industry professionals have studied the organization of economic work at the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant, BelTA learned from representatives of the Russian state nuclear industry corporation Rosatom.

A delegation led by Yevgeny Chervyakov, Deputy Director General of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, met with Nikolai Netyaga, Deputy Director for Economy and Finance of the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant, as well as with representatives of the accounting department, the economic planning department, and the labor organization and labor remuneration department.

Yevgeny Chervyakov noted: “We have not finished building a power-generating unit yet and are only approaching the next stage — the beginning of operation. We would like to know how various aspects of life of nuclear power plants in Russia are organized. This visit is dedicated to economic affairs.”

The Belarusian delegation also visited major facilities of the sixth power-generating unit of the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant.

The Belarusian nuclear power plant is being built using the Russian standard Generation III+ design AES-2006 near Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast. The first power-generating unit is scheduled for commissioning in 2019, with the second one to go online in 2020.
