Belarusian lawyers to develop cooperation with counterparts from Greece, Azerbaijan, Turkey

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Belarusian lawyers will develop cooperation with counterparts from Greece, Azerbaijan and Turkey. The relevant agreement was reached during the working trip of Chairman of the National Board of Lawyers of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Chaichits to Baku, BelTA learnt from spokeswoman for the National Board of Lawyers Irina Reut.

Viktor Chaichits took part in the meeting of the International Association of Lawyers of Black and Caspian Sea countries. He discussed with his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Greece a number of issues related to the development of the institute of advocacy.

Representatives of the Greek Institute of Advocacy stressed that, given the absence of the Belarusian embassy in Greece, the Belarusian citizens often need professional legal assistance which could be jointly provided by Belarusian and Greek lawyers. The parties agreed to launch necessary work on concluding cooperation agreements between Belarusian lawyers and counterparts from Greece, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The meeting of the International Association of Lawyers of the Black and Caspian Sea countries was held on 4-6 October. The Belarusian delegation was led by Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Lawyers Viktor Kamenkov. Partaking in the event were not only representatives of the Black and Caspian Sea countries, but also representatives of some EU member states, as well as the academic staff and lawyers of Azerbaijan.
