Belarus-Russia Union State announces contest of young political scientists

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – Students, postgraduates, graduates, and young scientists from Belarusian and Russian universities will take part in a contest of young political experts of the Belarus-Russia Union State at Belarusian State University, BelTA learned from the university's press service.

The contest includes two nominations: Main and Debut. The former features original articles that have never been published before. The latter refers to resumes, short summaries of conclusions of courseworks, bachelor's and master's theses. These papers must be written by one author and must be dedicated to the Union State, Belarus-Russia relations, integration processes in Eurasia with the participation of Russia and Belarus. The works may cover the topic from the standpoint of political science, economics, sociology, history, or philosophy.

The best academic papers will be commended by the state secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State. The finalists will get invitations to a summer school at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow in July. The winners in the Main nomination will be able to participate in expert events held as part of information support for the Union State construction. Their works will be published in the leading scientific editions.

The contest is organized by Belarusian State University, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian-Belarusian Expert Club, and the “Eurasia. Expert” analytical edition. The event is aimed at promoting research on the Union State, Belarus-Russia relations, and integration processes in Eurasia with the participation of Russia and Belarus.
