MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – About 100 applications have been submitted to the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company that will run the auditions to select the hosts for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.
The media holding will now proceed to processing the applications. Among the candidates are adults and children aged 9-14 years, including Belarusian participants of this international song contest, like Ksenia Sitnik (2005), Nadezhda Misyakova (2014), Ruslan Aslanov (2015) and Helena Meraai (2017). Applications were also submitted by Leila Ismailova who hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and national selection finalists for the adult version of the contest Anzhelika Pushnova (2017) and Oleg Shchutsky (2018). “The auditions will be held by the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company together with Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 show director Gordon Bonello in August,” the press service informed.
The candidates should meet the following criteria: be fluent in English, feel comfortable on stage, be videogenic and able to improvise, and to have experience of working live in major TV projects.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 will be held in the Minsk Arena complex in Belarus on 25 November. The organizer and coordinator of all events of the Junior Eurovision 2018 is the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company who is Belarus' only member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
