Sofia, 22 August (BelTA - BTA) - Archaeologists working at the Kaliakra Fortress have found a treasure in a small earthen pot hidden under the floor of a room that was burned in the late 14th century, the National Museum of History said on Wednesday.
The find consists of 957 articles, including 873 silver and 28 gold coins, 28 silver and bronze buttons, 11 golden earrings, two rings, among other items.
The coins in the treasure, Ottoman and Bulgarian, are of exceptional value.
The Kaliakra Fortress is part of the archaeological reserve on Cape Kaliakra, Northern Black Sea.
