Lukashenko: Sovereignty and security are held sacred in Belarus

MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – Sovereignty and security are held sacred in Belarus, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of state, no one can be allowed to violate these values. “For me, for all those present here and for the vast majority of Belarusian people, stability, security, independence and sovereignty are sacred things. If someone makes an attempt to violate them, we will use the full power of our state,” the president said.

“Is Ukraine not enough for you? You see what your policy in Ukraine has led to. I do not want this to happen in Belarus. I do not want to beat people or shoot at them. I have made a decision to prevent these clashes. You see what is happening. People with ammunition, with weapons make their way into the country from all sides. What will people say when there will be clashes at every intersection?” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“Please, do not tell me that I have not changed. Because I have. I will not interfere until some point. But if our security agencies and I see that the red line is crossed, we will take tough measures. Better you condemn us than the Belarusian people,” Alexander Lukashenko underlined.

“Do you want to destabilize the situation in Belarus as well? Do you want to bring chaos to the country? Enough of that already. The whole Europe is on fire. You have to stop. If we can do something to help the situation, other countries should learn from Belarus. We are ready to work hard to do it,” the president said.
