BEIJING, 29 September (BelTA) – China can count on Belarus' assistance in the promotion of its interests in Europe, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang in Beijing on 29 September, BelTA has learned.
The President stressed that Belarus and China have reached an advanced level of cooperation. He said that there are no problems in the political cooperation; the countries maintain good relations at the level of the heads of state, ministries and agencies. “We have been building these relations for a long time and have reached mutual trust,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “Belarus values it, and you must believe that you have a platform for the promotion of your interests in the center of Europe. You can count on us. We will do our best to help you promote your interest in the European continent.”
The head of state also remarked that he knows China very well. “You have made a huge breakthrough in your development in recent time,” he said.
Zhang Dejiang, in turn, emphasized a big personal contribution of Alexander Lukashenko to the development of the Chinese-Belarusian relations. “The Chinese side views you as a close friend, and we are ready to do our best to promote bilateral cooperation,” he said.
